President Obama Speaks on Education, Highlights Enneagram Arrows

I wrote this on the heels of this speech by President Obama on Enneagram Examiner. At the time, many didn’t think he was an Enneagram 9, I was trying to make my point about the diplomat in his speeches. I add this on the new site, because I want to remember a time of President Obama and how the Enneagram played a part of knowing his motivations. Enjoy.

September 2009

If you haven’t seen President Obama’s speech, you’ve missed a good one. As the right-wing pundits wanted you to think his speech was on the border of being—“acts of evil” as they called it, it turned out to be a simple speech, devoted to helping kids, levels Kindergarten to 12-grade, sees pass the now—and into the future of America.

It had all the great reflective words known for the Three, Sixes and Nine Enneagram types, and an arrow of responsibility—the One (The Purist). Obama touched on success, fairness and working together—that’s nice. But what does it all mean in the world of the Enneagram? It means that President Obama utilized the whole spectrum of his healthy core type and a couple of his wings.

[I] strongly believes that Obama is a Nine (The diplomat) where he wants to see all sides to every person and tackle it, for the good of all parties. But there are other sides to Obama, the Three, (The Achiever) and the Six, (The defender) that always plays a role in his thinking too.

When you hear Obama talking about ‘success,’ he’s utilizing his Bill Clinton or Oprah stances and looks more like the Achiever—where success is the number one goal. It’s a good thing when talking to American’s children to be the best they can.

You can’t let your failure define you; you need your failures to teach you

Obama demonstrated his Three wing often when he’s trying to prove to the American public, that his ideas are sound and successful ones.

Then, he moved into the Six stance—(The Defender). Sixes are known for using words like fair and working hard. This came to play when he was talking about children not having everything in life, as he states; “it’s still no excuse for not trying.” Sixes love to speak on “underdog causes.”

Then he even went into his arrow side of the Nine, the One (The Purist). This is important because Michelle Obama and President Obama have this trait in their personality. Being responsibility; Ones tend to work very hard at everything they do, and Obama is no different as he speaks on Michelle Obama—along with his childhood experiences—when he had to work even harder than everyone else, as he mother wakes him up at 4:30 a.m. just to advance his studies!

The Enneagram system is so clear when you understand the signs and why it’s important to listen to the keywords. Not just the President of the United States talking to the nation’s children, but his motivation into why he needs to do so. Then, others won’t have this ‘conspiracy’ theory that he’s up to no good. Understand the core of our President, and you will understand how he will lead this nation.
